This the small rural mountain town of El Valle De Anton where we are currently having our orientation through Friday. The surrounding mountains that you see above are actually the ridge line of an ancient volcano. The town itself is the valley below the mountains which was formed by the crater of the volcano
It's hard to see, but this cabellero (cowboy) has these ponies tied to a leash. I'm not sure who's walking who, but obviously this senior is in a very precarious position.
These are some photos of the hike we took today. The etchings on the boulder on the first ones you see are from ancient Indians. I couldn't make heads or tails of it, but apparently it's a map leading others to the top of where you can see La Dorminada India (The Sleeping Indian). It get's its name because the rock formation resembles obviously a sleeping Indian. There's a myth to go along with it, but I can't recall the details. At the top where you see me, overlooks the Valle which once again actually used to be the ENTIRE CRATER of the volcano.
